description- This project is representing the word mirror in sign language. I am currently in a sign language class so this project means a lot to me because I have always admired people who know sign language

Butterfly lidded form
Ceramic, under glaze, and glaze
Dimensions-4.5x4.5x9
Description- This is a lidded form dedicated to my mom. She loves butterflies and always tried to show me that they are beautiful insects. I wanted to make this shape because my mom loves to cook so this is meant to hold flour or anything for that reason. I made the background purple because that is my moms favorite color. My mom inspires me to work hard and push through hard times so I wanted to make this for her.

Prisoner

Ceramic, glaze, and acrylic paint
Dimensions- 8.5x6x2
Description- In todays society, many people are afraid to say how they truly feel. They are afraid to get judged for their opinions. People don't want to express who they are because they want to fit in. I feel like this too so this was my inspiration for this project. Sometimes i don't express my true feelings about things because I am afraid of judgement from others. That represents the bars on the mouth on my mask. It represents not being able to speak. The other part of my mask is the orange face. This and the chain represent a jail inmate. This is because not being able to show who you truly are feels like jail. It represents the torture of being trapped and your true self being locked away. I wanted to express this idea so i came up with the bars and chain. I was thinking of how else to show a jail inmate and thought of the orange side of the face. It represents the uniform so it shows wearing it everyday. This is the mask I wear every day.

Korean inspired vase

Description- I chose Korean inspired art because I really like the celadon color and the flowers. I really think their art and clay pieces are beautiful and was inspired to do my project on it.

stop motion video
Plasticine
Description-This video is a very cool project to me. I think it was cook to experiment with a new form of sculpting. I have never done stop motion before so it was fun to try it out. I wanted to do some sort of snake like element in the video by making the ice cream swirl slither in.
A snails journey

Poster dimensions- 7x29
Ceramic
Description-This is a story of a snail going on a journey to find her family. I chose this because I wanted to write a story that leaves a mystery and shows that its not always a happy ending.
Story-
Once upon a time, there was a snail named shelly. Every morning Shelly and her family go on a stroll around town. Until one day, on her normal morning stroll around town, she sees a beautiful crunchy green leaf. Shelly bursts ahead of her family so another snail doesn't get the leaf before her. Shelly begins to eat that amazing leaf and she feels so lucky to have found it. Until she finishes it and thinks to herself that it was strange her family wasn't with her. Her family would normally catch up to her already. Shelly then turns around to realize her family is missing. Nowhere to be found. Shelly begins to worry and she eventually realizes she needs to find them.
Shelly is determined to find her family. She will do whatever it takes. After searching all around town she thinks to herself that her family might be farther than she thinks. Shelly finds a car and slithers her way to the window. As the car brings her farther and farther from home, she doesn't stop searching. The car eventually stops and she is exhausted. Shelly decides to slither back out of the car and finds a big hill. The hill was taller than she had ever climbed before but she was willing to try. After days of trying and trying to climb that hill, she realizes she is too weak to keep going. Shelly finally decides to go home and she learns to live on her own. Shelly still waits for the day her family will show up again and can't help but to think it was her fault for leaving them to eat that leaf.
